The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) has partnered with the Arizona Burn Foundation and the Red Cross of Arizona to hold a Community Smoke Alarm Walk in Prescott Valley, Arizona on September 9, 2023.

The three partner organizations are currently searching for volunteers to assist in making the event a success. “Families are welcome, and we want community members to know that tools and training will be provided – there’s no experience necessary,” said Kathy Goodman, CAFMA Community Relations Coordinator, “And bonus, breakfast will be provided that morning!”

“Working smoke alarms save lives,” added CAFMA Fire Marshal Darrell Tirpak. “We continue to stress the importance of installing and testing smoke alarms because we know that homes are burning hotter and faster than ever before, and the safety of our community is our top priority.”

CAFMA encourages those interested in volunteering to go to https://azburn.org/get-involved/volunteer/ to apply.
